On Friday the 28th of March 2025, an exceptional private concert was organised in the Sistine Chapel in Rome by the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and the Pontifical Sistine Music Chapel to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Palestrina’s birth. Alberto Veggiotti, President of the Pueri Cantores Italy, and Jean Henric, President of the Pueri Cantores International, were fortunate and honoured to be invited to this exceptional, timeless occasion. “The interpretation of the various pieces by the Sistine Chapel choir was perfect. And it was all set against Michelangelo’s frescoes! It was a very moving moment”, Jean Henric recalls. The concert was attended by many personalities, including Cardinal Parolin, Secretary of State.
