India: Festival on Gaudete Sunday

|
The Indian Pueri Cantores Federation used to hold a national congress in Mumbai on the Sunday of Gaudete (this year on December 13th). Because this year a physical meeting is not possible, the choirs are invited to contribute to a festival of all senses. All submissions should be sent to puericantoresindia@gmail.com through Wetransfer, Google Drive or OneDrive.
Please note that the final Mass will be streamed at 6.00 PM (Indian time [IST]), this is 1.30 PM in Europe (CET) and 7.30AM in Eastern USA (EST). This service will be followed by a meeting on Zoom of all those who are interested in an exchange at 7.30 PM (Indian time [IST]), this is 3.00 PM in Europe (CET) and 9.00AM in Eastern USA (EST) Please send a short message to the email address above to get the data to join the meeting.

La Fédération indienne des Pueri Cantores organise habituellement un congrès national à Mumbai le dimanche de Gaudete (cette année, le 13 décembre). Comme pour 2020 une rencontre physique n'est pas possible, les chœurs du monde entier sont invités à contribuer à ce festival universel en envoyant quelque chose à puericantoresindia@gmail.com par Wetransfer, Google Drive ou OneDrive.

At the recent meeting of the Musica Sacra committee of the Archdiocese , his Eminence Cardinal Ranjith decided to appoint His Lordship Dr. Maxwell De Silva (Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Colombo) as the Patron of the Sri Lanka Pueri Cantores Federation and Very Re. Fr. Freely M. Arachchi as its President. In place of Rev. Fr.Suranga Fernando, Rev. Fr. Joseph Indika, the current Secretary General of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission has been appointed as the Ecclasiastical Assistant. Fr.Suranga has been appointed as a member of the staff of the National Major Seminary in Kandy, far away from Colombo. The Cardinal and the other members of the Commision have expressed their deep appreciation for the great work done by our Federation in developing Sacred Music including chants and choral music among school children and parish choirs.
As proposed by FIPC and accepted by our Federation we could go ahead and prepare for the International Regional Choir Festival in 2021. It is our hope that we could collaborate with Brother Joe and the Indian Federation to bring as many Indian (children and youth) choirs to Sri Lanka.

Lors de la récente réunion du comité Musica Sacra de l'archidiocèse, Son Éminence le Cardinal Ranjith a décidé de nommer Son excellence le Dr Maxwell De Silva (évêque auxiliaire du diocèse de Colombo) comme patron de la Fédération des Pueri Cantores du Sri Lanka et le Rev. Fr. Freely M. Arachchi comme président. En remplacement du Révérend Suranga Fernando, le Révérend Joseph Indika, actuel Secrétaire général de la Commission de Liturgie de l'Archidiocèse, a été nommé Assistant ecclésiastique. Le Père Suranga a été nommé membre du personnel du Grand Séminaire national de Kandy, loin de Colombo. Le Cardinal et les autres membres de la Commission ont exprimé leur profonde gratitude pour le grand travail accompli par notre Fédération dans le développement de la Musique Sacrée, y compris les chants et la musique chorale parmi les enfants des écoles et les chorales paroissiales.
Comme proposé par la FIPC, la Fédération SriLankaise peut aller de l'avant et préparer le Festival choral régional international en 2021. Elle espère pouvoir collaborer avec Brother Joe et la Fédération indienne pour faire venir le maximum de chœurs indiens au Sri Lanka.

The Brazilian national federation has realised its first online congress on 10 and 11 October 2020. It was a proposal of the Association's Communications Working Group, as physical participation in the Regional Congress in Novo Hamburgo (RS) 2020 was not possible due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID 19 pandemic. So we were able to bring the singers and conductors of our band a little closer together. Another attraction for this virtual meeting was the easy use of technology and media by the singers and conductors.
About 180 singers from 13 Brazilian choirs took part in the congress.
Courses and lectures were organised with special guests, as well as rehearsals, a church service and a remake of the last national congress in Campo Largo (PR).
During the congress the participants were given technical instructions to make two video recordings of two Brazilian pieces: Laudate Dominum (by Father José Maurício Nunes Garcia) and Rio Amazonas (Dori Caymmi). The singers were given a specific time slot to record the two videos and send them to the team for processing. We hope to be able to publish the two videos on the net in December (Laudate Dominum) and February 2021 (Rio Amazonas).
We also organised a drawing competition for the singers on the topic "Amazonia and the biodiversity of Brazil". The drawings will be included and shown in the recording of 'Amazonas'.

Congrès virtuel de la fédération Brésilienne
La fédération nationale brésilienne a réalisé son premier congrès en ligne les 10 et 11 octobre. Il s'agissait d'une proposition du groupe de travail sur la communication de la fédération, car la participation physique au congrès régional de Novo Hamburgo (RS) 2020 n'était pas possible en raison des restrictions imposées par la pandémie COVID 19. Un autre attrait de cette rencontre virtuelle fut la facilité d'utilisation de la technologie et des médias par les chanteurs et les chefs.
Environ 180 chanteurs de 13 chorales brésiliennes ont participé au congrès.
Avec des invités spéciaux, des cours et des conférences ont été organisés, ainsi que des répétitions, un service religieux et un remake du dernier Congrès national à Campo Largo (PR).
Pendant le Congrès, les participants ont reçu des instructions techniques pour réaliser deux enregistrements vidéo de deux pièces brésiliennes : Laudate Dominum (par le père José Maurício Nunes Garcia) et Rio Amazonas (Dori Caymmi). Les chanteurs ont reçu un créneau horaire spécifique pour enregistrer les deux vidéos et les envoyer à l'équipe pour traitement. Nous espérons pouvoir publier les deux vidéos sur le net en décembre (Laudate Dominum) et en février 2021 (Rio Amazonas).
Ils ont également organisé un concours de dessin entre chanteurs sur le thème "L'Amazonie et la biodiversité du Brésil". Les dessins seront inclus et montrés dans l'enregistrement d'"Amazonas".
